Biography
Eric Xing, Co-Founder, Chief Scientist and President of GenBio AI, is a visionary leader driving innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and biology. With decades of expertise in machine learning, computational biology, and large-scale AI architectures, he has dedicated his career to advancing research and developing technologies that enable scientific discovery. Eric’s contributions in statistical machine learning and scalable AI systems form a core foundation of GenBio AI’s mission to decode biology holistically and advance new approaches to medicine.
Before co-founding GenBio AI, Eric served as the inaugural President of MBZUAI and as a University Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. His work has been recognized through numerous honors and fellowships, including distinctions from AAAI, IEEE, and ACM. Eric holds dual PhD degrees in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Rutgers University and in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
